Welcome

Hello All!  I am Andy Waldman, a SQL Server Consultant in the Chicago-land area.  Welcome to my personal blog.

I have been thinking about starting this blog for the last year, but for one reason or another didn’t have time to get around to it until now.  I plan to focus most of my writing on interesting topics (to me at least) that come up in the course of my technical career.

Though I primarily work with SQL Server, I also do some occasional development in C# and recently I have gotten involved with a project in Azure.  Anything I come across, that I find interesting, may end up as a post on here.

Well, thanks for checking me out and I hope you find something interesting or helpful on here.

I “survived” SQL Skills Performance Class ;)

So, I just wrapped up a week of the SQL Skills IE2 Performance Tuning Class.  I have to say I was thoroughly impressed.  I already followed the blogs of Paul Randal and Kimberly Tripp, but now I will certainly be adding Joe SackJonathan Kehayias and Bob Beauchemin.  Though the team regularly blogs and puts a ton of information out there, being able to be there in person and ask questions, made me really feel like I got a lot more out of it than just reading along online.  If you couldn’t tell,  I would highly recommend attending any of their classes if you are able.
